Why a Boutique Campground May Be Just for You!

Published Nov 16 2015
How about a warm and relaxing stay in a nine space boutique campground that is perfectly located in the heart of everything where a vehicle won't even be needed. Sounds nice? Well Harborview RV Park has been in the heart of this California town since the Mid- 1930's, Morro Bay. First as a private campground , then, a Boutique RV Park since the 1950's. While the campground has always been family owned, it enjoys Iconic status to Morro Bay, as Harborview is the original Vacation Park in this quaint Coastal Community. The Boutique characteristics and it's history are what makes the Park unique, friendly, and fun. This little downtown jewel has been a destination location for generations of families, for over 80 years.

Bill and Nancy Hair have owned the Park for the past 20 years. "We are pretty mellow. Just a big, happy, old California family with plenty of surfer's, kids, grand kids and dogs . A low key, positive environment mixed up with a bit of fun seems to be the un-stated goal around here." Harborview RV Park cater's to unique, specialty traveler's with small RV's (32 feet and under) avoiding the McMansion type RV drama.

"All very simple with no manager on site, we often just leave the check-in form at the site or work out something easy for all. The needs of guests, such as arrivals, departures, and any other special requests, are a priority. Part of the boutique personality is our ability to do whatever it takes to make things go smoothly. Only nine unique spaces all in a cozy community "U" style setting, no drive thru traffic, foot traffic or non-guest access. Very private, safe and just feels darn good inside the Park."

The park has been completely re-furbished this year. Some updated features include new underground electric, sewer, water, and gas lines, Wi-Fi, driveway/spaces, fencing, tables, walls, landscaping, etc. Even the neat little 1950's bath house has been fully renovated with ADA restroom and shower facility's. It has been newly tiled, roomy and comfortable. "We strive to keep the Park in pristine condition at all times."

Many of their guests opt not to use their vehicle once they arrive and take in the surrounding area. "It's sort of a way of escaping their daily routine for something different. You can walk to everything in town such as markets, downtown shops and restaurants, movie theater, quaint coffee shops, kayaking, sailing, health food stores, the Embarkadero, great surfing, beautiful huge sand beach, "The Rock", the Marina and all Waterfront shops/restaurants, in minutes. Kinda fun to simply walk out for dinner and drinks or for coffee in the AM as you cruise off to play for the day. Morro Bay is a really great walking and biking town."

Morro Bay is located in the mid-point between L.A. and San Francisco Bay area. Harborview RV Park is ideal for an easy and relaxing anytime get-a-way. Many use the Park as their base to explore the renowned Paso Robles wine, Appalachian and/or their Big Sur Coast adventure. Everyone is treated as their personal guest. Both Harborview and the beautiful coastal town of Morro Bay offer memorable vacation experiences of good times past. Things here are simple, clean, neat, old school, easy and affordable. With so much to see and do, return visits are always in order. Many folks tell us they feel like Harborview is their secret escape. With only nine spaces it's quite easy to get comfortable. Whether dining by candlelight, overlooking the bay at sunset, kayaking the estuary, antiquing, shopping, fishing, surfing, sunbathing or a enjoying a relaxing lunch at the farmers market - you will find just the right fit. P.S. If you forget your RV at home, don't worry, they have a fully refurbished Rental Unit to stay in. Don't forget to bring Fido. They are super dog friendly as well!
